Iggy Pop

Last year while covering ATP NY I had the opportunity to shoot Iggy Pop in his hotel room.  Like most of my portraits I’m not sure if they will happen. If they do I have  only  a few minutes with my subject. Iggy had just headlined that evening and was resting before leaving for another gig.  Needless to say he had just given everything he had onstage so I wasn’t sure he would be up for it.  But the manager brought me in and said to make it quick. Apparently  Iggy doesn’t eat before a show so when I was brought in he was devouring a stack of ribs. He just said “Do your thing man, I’m going to eat this if thats cool.”  I thought it was perfect. Iggy had fun with it too. So after maybe 8-10 frames I said thanks, shook his hand and was out.  I included a gallery of the live show at the bottom of the post.
